Day 1: Connecticut to Old Friends of Cabin Creek Our travels to New York State bring us to Old Friends of Cabin Creek, Saratoga County’s only retired thoroughbred horse farm. Here winners of the major races in Saratoga are retired to enjoy their remaining years in peace and quiet amidst a lovely farm setting. On our guided tour you’ll enjoy an up-close experience with these amazing and beloved racehorses and enjoy hearing their stories. Mid-afternoon we head to our home for two nights, the elegant Queensbury Hotel in downtown Glens Falls, New York. This evening is free to enjoy the hotel amenities, dine at the hotel, or walk to one of the nearby popular restaurants in this beautiful city.
Day 2: Lake George – Painted Pony Rodo After breakfast head north to Lake George. We will enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and lake atop Mt. Prospect. Back into town there will be time for lunch and shopping before enjoying our afternoon “Islands of the Narrows” cruise. You’ll enjoy the most scenic, peaceful, calming and beautiful spot on the entire lake. Learn about Lake George’s points of interest, its history, geology and ecology as you sail. This evening we are in for a fun filled evening at the Painted Pony Rodeo, one of the oldest weekly rodeos in the United States. Feast on a genuine Texas Style BBQ, catch the thrills and spills of a professional rodeo. This unique all-American sport has been here since 1953. Saddle Bronc, bareback riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, breakaway roping, ladies barrel racing and the main event, the Bull Riding are events you’ll enjoy. Top quality specialty acts such as trick and fancy roping and comedy acts will entertain you. (Breakfast and dinner included)
Day 3: Saratoga Springs - Home We rise to a delicious breakfast before heading out to Saratoga Springs. Our historian tour guide takes us through on a fascinating journey through the Victorian era. Saratoga is home to more than 100 opulent mansions, visible as you drive by. You will learn about the scandalous stories of the people who lived in these homes in bygone days while enjoying the fascinating history of one of the Country’s most beautiful small cities. Our final stop will be Saratoga Springs’ famous Main Street abounding with restaurants and specialty shops. Midafternoon we head back to Connecticut. (Breakfast included)
